Two too many

Young talent to compete in Malaysian Bintang Kecil

“I am very excited to show my talent in this Bintang Kecil which will be aired live in Malaysia. I am aware of the challenges and I have prepared myself well with the guidance from my teachers. I have been practising for weeks now and hope to sing effectively on that night. I hope to make Brunei proud of me,” said 11 year-old Abdul Muqsith bin Abdul Hadie.

Muqsith, a Year 6 student at Sultan Hassan Bangar Primary School, was the first runner-up winner at RTB’s Bintang Kecil last year.

He spoke before his departure to Kuching, Sarawak on Monday to represent Brunei at the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Bintang Kecil Competition where he will be competing against other 14 young singing talents made up of 11 from Malaysia and one each representing Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia.

Accompanied by his father, Muqsith who has passion in singing since at a young age of 5 years old, pledged to give his all at the competition on September 21. The competition will be broadcast live on the Malaysian TV2 channel.
