The village consultative council (MPK) in collaboration with Demensia Brunei hosted a talk on Dementia at Pusat Insani, Seria on Friday.
Consultant geriatrician Dr Shyh Poh Teo delivered the talk to the elderly of Pekan Seria.
The talk aimed at changing the mindset of the attendees by disseminating information on the dangers associated with dementia, how to identify it at its onset and seek the medical treatment and support needed.
The participants also answered a questionnaire to see if they had been exhibiting signs of dementia.
Demensia Brunei has been conducting talks and activities nationwide to raise awareness on dementia.
Dr Shyh said there are plans to hold more talks to reach more elderly in the country.
