State Mufti receives courtesy visit from Malaysian religious officials

State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned on Thursday welcomed a courtesy visit from officials representing the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department of Malaysia.

The visiting delegation included Dr Mohamad Kori bin Jusoh, Deputy Director General (Policy) of JAKIM; Mohd Suhaimi bin Mohd Yusof, Senior Assistant Director of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department; and Md Khairulzaki bin Misbah, Senior Assistant Director of JAKIM’s MABIMS Secretariat.

The meeting took place at the Darulifta at the State Mufti’s office. Acting Director of Administration at the State Mufti’s Department, Haji Saiful Nizam bin Haji Sulaiman, along with other officials from the State Mufti’s Department, received the delegation.

The Malaysian officials were in Brunei representing their country at the 48th Meeting of Senior Officials (SOM) of MABIMS, held in Brunei from November 4 to 7.

During the courtesy call, the delegation and the State Mufti exchanged views on the development of Islam in their respective countries, highlighting shared goals and challenges in promoting Islam regionally. – FADLEY FAISAL
