Officials of the Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department detained two foreign nationals during Operation Kabat 93/2024 conducted recently. The operation targeting rental rooms in Mukim Pengkalan Batu and a shop in Mukim Gadong ‘B’ saw nine individuals questioned.
Of the two detained at the Law Enforcement Division, one was suspected of violating Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17 by overstaying in the country after the immigration pass had expired.
The individual was also believed to have breached Regulation 15(2) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17, for working for an employer other than the one stated in the work permit. The second individual was suspected of violating Regulation 15(3) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17, for engaging in work that did not match the job specified in the passport. – Fadley Faisal
