Garbage collection should not take place late at night

I am writing to address a growing concern among residents regarding the noise caused by garbage trucks in the middle of the night. While efficient waste management is crucial, the disruptive clamour of these trucks, including loud engines and jarring clattering of garbage bins, can significantly disturb our sleep and affect our quality of life.

In contrast, many cities around the world have adopted more considerate garbage collection schedules. For instance, in several European cities, waste collection is conducted early in the morning, a time when it is less likely to disturb residents. This approach not only ensures timely removal of garbage but also minimises noise disruption.

I propose that the authorities consider implementing similar early-morning schedules or explore quieter waste collection technologies. This change would greatly enhance our quality of life and align our practices with those of other progressive cities.
