I would like to appeal to parents who fetch their children from school to refrain from smoking on school grounds. Where my daughter goes to school, there is always this group of men who would light up near the gate, despite there being a “no smoking” sign.
What I don’t understand is why the school isn’t enforcing its rules. If students are prohibited from smoking on school premises, why is it okay for the parents? School is supposed to be a place to learn, and that includes the dangers of smoking. By allowing these parents to puff away, the students may begin to see the habit as acceptable.
