Chamber gains insight into economic diversification efforts

Brunei Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC) members were briefed on the industry roadmaps on the five priority sectors as part of the diversification efforts away from the oil and gas sector.

The presentation took place during a sharing session with the Industry and Business Ecosystem (IBE) Division and the Registry of Companies and Business Names Division (ROCBN) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE).

The session was held to better understand the initiatives to foster economic growth and support local businesses. CCC President Lim Han Chiong led the delegation. Director of IBE Division Allen On and Director of ROCBN Muhammad Akmal Hanis bin Haji Jefri also participated.

Challenges faced by local companies were discussed during the meeting, where ROCBN also provided updates on recent developments regarding company and director registration.

The sharing session aimed to equip the Chamber with a clearer understanding of the diversification efforts, enabling them to better share information and attract potential investors to the country. – Lyna Mohamad
