Relentless Entertainment’s Musical Mania 5 kicked off last night with its opening show treating the audience to a night of a variety of hit songs and musical performances at Jerudong International School (JIS) Arts Centre Theatre.
With 50 cast members, Musical Mania 5 is an entertaining and colourful family event which took the audience on a journey of emotions.
The jukebox concept production featured popular songs and performances from Broadway and Disney musicals as well as pop hits.
“We have a cast of over 50 talents ranging from students aged 10 to professionals in their 30’s,” said founder and managing partner of Relentless Entertainment and Academy of Performing Arts Amy Cheong.
“It’s a great mix of individuals from all walks of life who have come together to live their passion for performing while at the same time; develop the local performing arts and creative arts industry which is one of Relentless’ missions.”
“We are featuring a total of 20 numbers. As a few of them are medleys, we actually have 29 songs in total. So, there’s definitely a little something for everyone,” she added.
“We hope to bring attention to the immense number of local talents available in the Sultanate who are able to perform at international level,” she said.
“We also hope to continue raising the level of our local performing arts scene through the Relentless Academy of Performing Arts and our Relentless productions. We will continue to do as much as we can to nurture and grow our performing arts industry,” said Amy Cheong.
Musical enthusiasts can catch more performances tonight at 8pm and tomorrow at 1.30pm and 8pm. – Adib Noor
