11th IAW puts spotlight on glory of Islam

The 11th Islamic Aspiration Week (IAW) serves as platform to disseminate dakwah and the glory of Islam as well as enhance the efforts in shaping and developing ‘Insan Syumul’, strengthen ties and instil students’ interest in Islamic studies.

Head of Executive of Religious and Spiritual Affairs (EKK) 2023/2024 session Nurul Mushafaahtul Ain binti Haji Idris said this during the 11th IAW opening ceremony by the EKK of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Student Association yesterday.

UBD Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Corporate and Administration) and Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Associate Professor Pengiran Dr Mohamad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, as the chief guest, officiated the opening ceremony and toured an exhibition on the Sociology of Islam, Heart of Art, Business and Science and Astronomy.

Held until Thursday, the event is themed ‘Contribution in Islam: Art, Science and the Great Scholars’ highlighting the knowledge contribution in the fields of science and arts by Islamic scholars. – Rokiah Mahmud
