The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), in collaboration with enforcement agencies including the Narcotics Control Bureau, Land Transport Department, and Royal Customs and Excise Department, conducted nationwide roadblock operations on New Year’s Eve.
The RBPF stated that the operation aimed to ensure public safety by encouraging road users to comply with traffic regulations and implementing crime prevention measures.
Violations uncovered during the operation included drug consumption, possession of contraband such as cigarettes, vape products, and alcohol, as well as traffic offences such as worn-out tyres, the use of unauthorised curtains in vehicles, and driving without a valid license.
With the start of the new year, the RBPF reminded all road users to adhere to traffic laws and work together to make 2025 a safer year for everyone. – James Kon
