As a Bruneian, I am amazingly proud of the way the 40th National Day celebration turned out at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. It brought the patriotism in me to new heights, which I didn’t think was possible! I was especially wooed by the field performances, how well-choreographed the whole segment was and how I wished I had been involved in one way or another.
I would like to also applaud the authorities for addressing the issues – transportation and food – that had surfaced during the royal wedding earlier this year through better planning and execution. These efforts were testament to the government’s willingness to heed our concerns and find solutions.
Given that the grand assembly happens every decade, I’m now more determined than ever to get into the public sector, so that I too will be able to showcase my love for the country.
