His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah at the opening ceremony of the 19th Legislative Council (LegCo) session on Thursday shows foresight, touching on the people’s well-being and various programmes and initiatives in tackling current issues.
This was said by LegCo Speaker Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib when he started the ball rolling on the LegCo meeting yesterday with focus on expressing motions of thanks to the monarch’s titah.
The Speaker hoped to see LegCo members shoulder the responsibility during the session that serves as a platform to share thoughts and contribute to discussions on strategic matters for the sake of the people and the nation.
The involvement of all parties in the government, the private sector, at grassroots level and all individuals through whole-of-government and whole-of-nation approaches is necessary in realising Brunei Vision 2035.
