Blood donor Mohd Kamarul Hakimin bin Mohd Amin sharing that donating blood is not painful, encouraged others to do so as it can save lives.
He said this during a blood donation drive organised by Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) and its subsidiaries, Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd (IITHSB) and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) at The Airport Mall yesterday. “I want to help those in need of blood as one pint can save three lives. I also feel that it is also beneficial to one’s health as it lowers blood pressure and lowers the risk of a heart attack,” Mohd Kamarul Hakimin added.
Meanwhile, Abdul Wafi bin Haji Morsidi said, “I started donating blood last year after seeing my colleagues participate in a campaign. This is my second time donating.”
The event, organised in collaboration with Jerudong Park Medical Centre, was held in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day.
Some 58 pints of blood were collected during the campaign.
Perbadanan TAIB Managing Director Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim, DHSB Managing Director Haji Mahmud bin Haji Mohamed and IITHSB Acting Managing Director Haji Mohd Yusreza bin Haji Mohd Yussin, officers and staff members of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries, as well as members of the public attended the event. Perbadanan TAIB Group of Companies will organise similar events in the future to support the blood bank. – James Kon
