National Skills 2024, a one-day event where participants prepared, cooked, and presented a three-course meal to a panel of judges within six hours, was held yesterday at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education’s (IBTE) School of Hospitality and Tourism, Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus in Jalan Muara. The event began with opening remarks by Acting Head of School Muhd Fadhil bin Haji Abu Bakar.
Six participants competed, Mohammad Nabil Zufayri bin Nazaruddin, Awangku Mohd Ifwat Wazif bin Pengiran Haji Sohardi, Nur Aainaa Imanina binti Haji Mohamad Rosli, Ezzatul Haziyah binti Mohammad Norariffin, Nur Hayani Afifah binti Mohammad and Caden Tan Hang Yee.
Awangku Mohd Ifwat Wazif claimed the top spot, with Nur Aainaa Imanina in second and Ezzatul Haziyah in third.
The competition provided a platform for young chefs to showcase their skills, creativity, and innovation while gaining practical experience in a professional environment.
It also promoted self-development, problem-solving, and networking across institutes, offering recognition from industry experts to inspire future culinary careers.
