More than 60 Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) administrative staff participated in a workshop on ‘Harnessing Generative AI for Enhanced Productivity’ recently.
The transformative workshop, led by Associate Professor Dr Mohamad Tazli Azizan, was organised in collaboration with the UBD Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) and the Centre for Lifelong Learning (C3L).
The workshop provided participants with insights into the applications and benefits of generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Through hands-on training and interactive sessions, attendees learnt how to harness the power of AI to streamline tasks, improve efficiency, and stimulate innovation.
Generative AI tools hold significant potential to revolutionise educational processes, offering the ability to customise learning experiences for students and foster the acquisition of modern teaching and learning skills.
UBD is at the forefront of AI adoption in education. UBD recently published a comprehensive Policy and Guidelines on Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) book to ensure ethical and responsible AI usage in teaching and learning.
The policies contained within provides clear directives for educators and students, addressing ethical dilemmas and privacy concerns.
A significant moment in UBD’s AI journey occurred when His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Chancellor of UBD, signed a copy of the Policy and Guidelines on GenAI during the 33rd Teacher’s Day celebration in September.
