The first flight carrying Brunei Darussalam haj pilgrims touched down safely at 9.14am via Royal Brunei Airlines (BI 4222) on Monday. Among the 252 pilgrims on board were officials from the Brunei Darussalam Haj Affairs Office (Medical), along with personnel from Darussalam Services Sdn Bhd (DSSB) and Straits Central Agencies Sdn Bhd (SCA).
Present to welcome the arrival of the Brunei Darussalam haj pilgrims at Brunei International Airport were Minister of Religious Affairs Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports as Acting Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad and spouse; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Mohammed Abdullah Al Buraithin.
Upon the arrival of the pilgrims, a Doa Selamat was recited by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murat.
