UBD emerge winners in Chancellor’s Trophy

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) contributed to the success of the Chancellor’s Trophy after successfully organising a football tournament at the FABD Football Field over the weekend.

The tournament saw the participation of four higher education institutions namely UNISSA, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB).

UBD were crowned champions after defeating UNISSA in the final. UTB secured third place after defeating KUPU SB who finished fourth. The top goal-scorer award went to Naeem Shareef from UNISSA, while Abdul Mudzil bin Ahmad Saufi from UBD grabbed the best goalkeeper award.

UBD’s Mohammad Alif Azizi bin Haji Abdullah was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

The football tournament indirectly strengthened the value of cooperation and discipline among the competing students.

In addition, the meet also aimed to provide awareness to the participants on constantly staying active and practising a healthy lifestyle.
