Warm meals delivered to the needy

Standard Chartered recently collaborated with the Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) to prepare and distribute meals, together with single mothers under SCOT’s Social Kitchen Community programme. Some 250 meals for the socio-economically challenged families in the Brunei-Muara District were prepared by the volunteers.

“We are grateful to be able to participate in the Social Kitchen Community programme under SCOT and working closely with the single mothers to carry out this activity for the second consecutive year,” said the bank’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing Marilyn Graeme.

“This meaningful collaboration will hopefully reinforces the bank’s commitment in promoting social and economic inclusion in the communities we operate in,” she said.

The bank’s recreation club committee coordinated the initiative.

The Social Kitchen Community programme aims to provide entrepreneurial opportunities to the socio-economically challenged communities, especially unemployed single mothers.
