Brunei’s veteran athletes won 15 gold medals, five silver and one bronze in the SMFTA International Masters Track & Field Championship held at Home of Athletics, Singapore on June 10 and 11.
Haji Tiang @ Haji Safri bin Haji Mudin as well as Budin Anak Meringgai each grabbed four golds.
Haji Tiang collected gold medals in long jump, triple jump, 200 metres (m) and 100m run category while Budin grabbed gold medals in long jump, triple jump, 200m and 100m runs.
Meanwhile Haji Zainal bin Haji Namit clinched three gold medals in high jump, javelin and shot put and one silver in long jump.
Hajah Mariah binti Haji Metussin collected one gold in discus, one silver in javelin and one bronze in shot put. The contingent was led by Brunei Veteran Athletics Association Secretary Hajah Mariah binti Haji Metussin.
