UTB holds religious ceremony to commemorate 9th convocation

Ninety-four participants took part in the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony which was held at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque (UBD), Tungku Link, Gadong yesterday in conjunction with the 9th Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Convocation Ceremony.

Participants comprise 24 male and 70 female bachelor’s and master’s degree graduands.
Present as the guest of honour was Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh; Vice Chancellor of UTB Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman; permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Education, UTB principal officers, staff and students.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Assistant Vice-Chancellor of UTB (Industry and Services) Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, followed by the recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha until Surah Al-Masad by the graduands led by a graduand from Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Mohammad Musa Bin Haji Ibrahim.

The event then proceeded with Takhtim, and the Doa Khatam Al-Quran recited by a graduand from Bachelor of Science in Computer Network and Security Muhammad Fauzan bin Haji Salleh,

The ceremony concluded with Dikir Marhaban and a Doa Selamat read by Imam of the UBD Mosque Mohammad Amirul Rahmad bin Haji Mohammad.

The event was a part of the series to celebrate the students who have successfully completed their studies and will be graduating in the upcoming UTB Convocation Ceremony set to be held on February 12.
