    US reaffirms ties with Brunei

    The United States (US) reaffirmed its bilateral ties with Brunei Darussalam and its commitment to the strong partnership with the Sultanate as this year marks the 40th anniversary of formal bilateral relations between both nations, said US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J Kritenbrink in an online press briefing yesterday.

    “I was absolutely delighted to travel to Brunei, which was my first trip there ever. This year marks our 40th anniversary of formal bilateral relations and I am proud to mark the milestone with Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin,” said the US assistant secretary of state. – Fadley Faisal
