    Upholding integrity at work vital for national progress

    The Friday sermon emphasised the importance of integrity in the workplace as a cornerstone for ethical and professional conduct. Delivered in mosques nationwide, the sermon highlighted that maintaining integrity ensures not only personal accountability but also upholds national values and prosperity.

    The sermon underscored that acts such as punctuality, adherence to workplace regulations, and ethical behavior reflect an employee’s commitment to their responsibilities. It warned against behaviors that compromise integrity, such as corruption, dishonesty, and negligence, which could lead to organisational and societal harm.

    The imam reminded the congregation of the significance of being truthful and trustworthy in all duties.

    The sermon also addressed the grave consequences of corruption, describing it as a betrayal of trust and a sin that destroys individuals and nations. 

    Imams called on workers to report any acts of corruption and to act as stewards of a corruption-free Brunei, aligning with the nation’s vision for integrity and accountability.

    The sermon concluded with a call for prayers, seeking Allah the Almighty’s guidance to cultivate honesty, dedication, and mutual support in all endeavors. The sermon emphasized that fostering integrity at work contributes to a harmonious and prosperous society.
