Works on gas pipeline requiring more time than expected, says DES and BSP

The Department of Electrical Services (DES) and Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) on Saturday said that due to unforeseen circumstances, the maintenance and restorations works on gas pipeline PID0016 had been extended.

BSP, in a statement, said the delay was due to unforeseen circumstances, and the company hoped to complete the works by midnight on Saturday.

Meanwhile, DES acknowledged the impact of electricity supply disruptions on affected areas and assured public that it is closely monitoring the development and worked to restore electricity supply  to affected areas in phases as soon as the works have reached completion. Among the affected areas of the power supply disruptions from 3.05pm until midnight; included commercial and private buildings along Jalan Gadong including One Riverside; The Centrepoint; Kampong Batu Bersurat; Kampong Pengkalan Gadong; Kampong Menglait; E-Government National Centre; State Store; PWD Sewerage Treatment Plant Tungku Link; government flats in Beribi; Kampong Mata-Mata including Scout’s headquarter; Land Transport Department in Kampong Sungai Akar and Kampong Beribi; Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata; Old Airport Berakas; Kampong Tungku; Kampong Perpindahan Tungku; and STKRJ Tungku among others

Meanwhile, interruptions affected from 6pm to midnight: Pekan Muara, Kampong Serasa, Serasa Industrial area, Fisheries Department Serasa, Pulau Muara Besar, Jalan Pelumpong including Muara Health Centre, Royal Brunei Naval Base Muara, Kampong. Sabun, Kampong Kapok, Kampong Meragang, Perpindahan Kampong Meragang, Meragang Sixth Form Centre and BSM Muara Terminal. – James Kon
