Brunei humanitarian mission delivers aid

Brunei’s Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) mission continued on the sixth day with the second team’s first flight tasks using two Royal Brunei Air Force’s (RBAirF) Blackhawk S70i helicopters.

Two air lifts were completed yesterday, with a total of 824 boxes of food supply flown from Naga Airport to the affected areas around Sumaoy Island.

The first team using the RBAirF‘s C295MW Transport Aircraft also carried out shuttle flights transporting passengers and tarpaulin sheets from Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Manila to Bicol International Airport, Luzon.

The second team arrived at the Old Legazpi Airport on Thursday at 2.50pm.

The flight, which took two days, made six refuelling stops including an overnight stay in Zamboanga, before continuing on to its final destination.

The team’s arrival was welcomed by Group Commander of the Tactical Operation Group 5 of the Philippines Air Force Colonel Romulo Y Dilag PAF.

Efforts for the Air Logistics Support in the affected areas will continue today, subject to current weather conditions.
