Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali concluded the Program Belia Mesra Masjid recently, where the programme was held at Kampong Sinaut Mosque, Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Wakeel Mosque in Kampong Kiudang and Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in the Tutong District.
The programme aims to develop students’ qualities by encouraging initiatives that connect mosques with the public.
It teaches youth to respect mosques and use social media to share Islamic knowledge. It also allows the university’s Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre (HTRC) to promote halal knowledge to the local community.
The programme featured a collective recitation of Surah Yaasiin, congregational prayers and a knowledge-sharing session on halal matters by HTRC Associate Professor Dr Moohamad Ropaning Sulong. Among the topics presented were Maqasid Syariah Dalam Praktik Halal: Menuju Kehidupan Seimbang dan Berkat, Halal Membawa Berkat and Kepentingan Memahami Konsep Halal Dalam Kehidupan Seharian.
