F-22s from the 27th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, and C-130s from the United States (US) Air National Guard departed from Brunei Darussalam via Rimba Air Force Base yesterday, enroute to the Philippines.
From there, they will return to Kadena Air Base, Japan where the F-22s are currently forward deployed. The aircraft arrived in Brunei Darussalam on August 6 after completing an exercise in Australia.
During the stopover, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim visited with the F-22 crew and maintenance team for a tour of the aircraft and an introduction to its unique capabilities.
The US Air Force and RBAirF conduct regular training and engagements to further develop the operational capabilities of each service, while strengthening people-to-people ties between the US and Brunei Darussalam.
