    UBD celebrates Al-Quran competition winners

    Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) organised an appreciation event for Al-Quran competition winners at the university’s mosque yesterday.

    Four winners were awarded for their accomplishment.

    The event began with the recitation of Surah At-Takathur by Dayangku Fauziah Nadirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri, the champion of the event. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology in 2018 and completed her Master in Management in 2021.

    The surah was elaborated by guest speaker Religious Development Officer from the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Muskirsman Safari bin Haji Mustafa.

    The first runner-up was Dr Hajah Siti Wardah binti Mejar (Rtd) Haji Abdul Rahman, who graduated with a Bachelor in Economics in 2007; followed by Dayangku Siti Ummi Syazana binti Pengiran Haji Marjuki, who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2017; and Haji Nasrul Fakhri bin Haji Yahya, the third winner, graduated in 2017 with a Master of Education.

    The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Kesyukuran by Haji Dzulhilmi bin Haji Moharefandi.

    UBD Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) and Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Corporate and Administration) Associate Professor Pengiran Dr Mohammad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra was the guest of honour. – Adib Noor
