Two products flagged by the ministry as non-halal

Myvitamins Thermopure and MyProtein Impact Bar were found to be non-halal, and retailers and shop owners are urged to segregate the products to the non-halal section, said the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through the Syariah Affairs Department yesterday.

The MoRA said according to the information provided by the THG Plc Company in the United Kingdom, the products Myvitamins Thermopure (containing beef gelatine) and Myprotein Impact Bar (containing hydrolysed beef gelatine) do not have halal certification from any recognised halal certification body.

An immediate separation order has been issued by the Syariah Affairs Department to the importing company and supermarket and shop owners where the products are available for purchase have been ordered to move the products to the non-halal section.

The MoRA also reminded owners, managers, operators, traders, suppliers and importers of products to ensure that imported products sold to the Bruneian public through supermarkets or shops are separated into halal and non-halal sections. – Azlan Othman
