The Licensing and Enforcement Section of the Brunei-Muara District Office fined two individuals for violating the Miscellaneous Act (Chapter 30).
Ardi Rahman bin Mahadi was fined BND100 while Haji Mohammad Aisamuddin bin Haji Jumaat received a BND300 fine. Both were given a grace period to settle their fines, failing which they may face prosecution under the Act.
If found guilty, they could face a fine of up to BND9,000, imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both.
The Licensing and Enforcement Section urged public cooperation in reporting illegal rubbish disposal by providing location details and supporting photos via the department’s WhatsApp line. – Lyna Mohamad
