The Centre for Lifelong Learning (C3L) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) hosted a two-day workshop on Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Toxicology, which concluded yesterday.
The event was a highlight of the C3L Open Day and Lifelong Learning Festival 2024.
It aimed at addressing the International Labour Organization’s findings, revealing two million work-related fatalities, 270 million accidents, and 160 million job-related diseases annually.
It also aimed at upskilling and reskilling professionals in occupational health and safety, focusing on occupational hygiene and toxicology to confront workplace hazards and reduce health risks.
Speakers at the event were Professor Dr Orawan Kaweboonchoo from Mahidol University, Thailand and Professor Dr Anamai Thetkathuek from Burapha University, Thailand
Interactive sessions were also held with dynamic lectures, case studies, group discussions, and hands-on practice to blend theory with practical understanding.
