Tuggers head to Kuala Lumpur for tournament

The Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council tug of war team left for Malaysia to compete in the Kuala Lumpur (KL) International Tug of War Tournament yesterday.

The team comprises 10 tuggers, two coaches and two managers representing the Brunei Darussalam Tug of War Association (BDTA) and the Sultanate.

Acting President of BDTA Pengiran Haji Mohd Iskandar Shah bin Pengiran Haji Jadid was at the Brunei International Airport to motivate the athletes and see them off.

“This is our first time competing in the KL International Tug of War Tournament,” said tugger Muhammad Fadiul Bahrey bin Bakri in an interview.

“Our team includes young as well as veteran tuggers. We started training in April and have competed in several competitions in the country, with podium finishes,” he added.

The tournament began yesterday and ends on September 16.
