Three labour offences found in Belait operation

Three violations to the Employment Order 2009 were recorded in the latest operations conducted by the Labour Department.

The Law Enforcement Division in the Belait District carried out inspections in Jalan Pandan 1 and Jalan Jaya Negara where an employer was found to have violated the terms of the foreign employment licence by placing an employee in the position of a labourer as a cashier, and another for failing to provide leave on a gazetted public holiday and providing first aid equipment.

If found guilty, the employers may face a fine of up to BND1,000 for each offence. – Azlan Othman
