Three foreign workers suspected of violating immigration regulations by offering to renovate houses, build garages, construct yard fences and repair houses were caught by the Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) during operation SAKAT JIPK 36/2023 at a housing area in Mukim Mentiri.
The three men were taken to the Law Enforcement Division of the INRD.
The operation aimed to inspect and conduct patrols based on public information, either privately or with other enforcement agencies.
It is also to enforce the Immigration Act and Regulations, the Passport Act and Regulations and ensure they are complied with and to track down immigration offenders.
In addition, it is also to enforce the Prevention of People Smuggling Order 2019 and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Order 2019 and activities against the laws and regulations of Brunei Darussalam.
The INRD reminded the public that it will carry out operations, arrests, investigations and take legal action against persons violating the law. If found guilty, action will be taken against any foreigner committing a crime and will be brought to court, imprisoned and deported to their country of origin and names blacklisted.
The department continues enforcement activities and reminded the public that providing employment or training immigration offenders is an offence.
