Three individuals embraced Islam in a ceremony at the Belait District Da’wah Unit yesterday.
Two Iban siblings, 20-year-old Rossieliana anak Robby Sugara and 17-year-old Rozabella anak Robby Sugara, along with 18-year-old Chinese man Chin Tze Chien, recited the Syahadah as they embraced their new Muslim names Nur Hannah Qhayra binti Robby Sugara, Nurbella Kayyisa binti Robby Sugara and Muhammad Mukhlis Chin bin Abdullah.
Islamic studies officer in the Belait District Hazalina binti Dhalan attended the ceremony. She was accompanied by dakwah officers, as well as friends and family of the new converts.
Hazalina presented gifts to the converts and sprinkled bunga rampai and scented oil, accompanied by the recitation of Dikir Marhaban.
The Belait District Branch of the Da’wah Unit has recorded 59 individuals who have embraced the Islamic faith since the start of the year.
Meanwhile, 202 individuals have embraced the faith nationwide. – Daniel Lim
