KOTA KINABALU (ANN/THE STAR) – Three men have been arrested for allegedly robbing a woman who was resting in her parked car in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah last week.
State CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Azmi Abdul Rahim said on Monday the suspects were locals aged between 24 and 36.
They were nabbed in three separate raids in Kampung Pulutan and Kampung Darau near the capital on Sunday (March 10), he said in a statement.
He said in the reported robbery, the victim was resting in her car by the Tuaran Bypass last Thursday as she had been driving for quite some time from Sipitang.
SAC Azmi said the woman lost about MYR5,000 worth of possessions following the 4.30am incident.
She also suffered minor injuries during a struggle with the perpetrators, he added.
“During our raids, we seized a vehicle, a branded handbag, a pair of earrings and other things such as tyre levers, screwdrivers, spanners and a hammer believed to have been used in the robbery,” he said.
SAC Azmi said the case was being investigated for gang robbery.
