Temburong District’s mukim and village consultative councils, together with the Temburong Motorcycle Association, the Temburong Pedallers and the Temburong District Office are organising the Borneo Bike Gathering edition of the ‘Ke Temburong Bisai’ Programme that ends tomorrow in Pekan Bangar.
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha officially launched the event held in conjunction with the school holiday and Brunei December Festival 2024.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, as co-chair of the gathering, shared that this edition of the event focuses on motorcycle and bicycle enthusiasts. The programme aims to share experiences and skills related to motorcycles and bicycles, as well as provide opportunities for the participants to engage in various activities.
One of the objectives of the event is to attract both domestic and international visitors, particularly motorcycle and bicycle enthusiasts, to Temburong District during the December school holiday. It also serves as a platform for bikers and cyclists to exchange knowledge and experiences. Additionally, the event provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs from the mukim and village consultative councils and micro, small and medium enterprises in Temburong District to showcase and sell their products.
Following the official launch, the minister presented certificates of appreciation to the sponsors and participants. He also toured the exhibition area and interacted with exhibitors and vendors.
Permanent Secretary (Safety and Welfare) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Salminan bin Haji Burut, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) at the MTIC Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim and Acting Temburong District Officer Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar were present. – James Kon
