Communities around the nation continue to mark Ramadhan with Tedarus Al-Quran ceremonies to glorify places of worship and enliven the holy month.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) hosted a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony on Monday at Kampong Sungai Liang Mosque in the Belait District.
The ceremony, organised by the Department of Energy and the Management Services Department in collaboration with the mosque takmir committee, also saw the handover of waqaf comprising two vacuum cleaners.
Deputy Minister (Energy) at the PMO Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah led the contingent.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the PMO Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra was also present.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) hosted its Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque.
The mosque congregation joined executives, officers and staff of the MCYS in the religious ceremony organised by the Language and Literature Bureau, the Department of Youth and Sports and the Museums Department, in collaboration with the mosque takmir committee.
Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohammed Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan and Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the MCYS Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin were present.
Meanwhile, in the Tutong District, female officers and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs held a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony at Ar-Rahim Mosque in Kampong Bukit Panggal.
The annual activity aims to increase pious acts in the holy month of Ramadhan as well as to forge closer ties among colleagues.
Spouse of Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Datin Hajah Norazimah binti Haji Ramlee was present.
Also in the Tutong District, the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) and the Tutong Dakwah Unit held a Tedarus ceremony for the Batang Mitus/Kebia Tutong Converts Guidance Class on Monday.
The event aimed to provide a platform for converts to be involved in the enlivening of the holy month of Ramadhan.
PDI Acting Assistant Director Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong led representatives from the centre.
