An outstanding teacher and students shared their secrets to achieving success during an appreciation ceremony at Bridex Hall, Jerudong yesterday.
Teacher Nurul Aima binti Zaini from Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School said, “Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to receive the Brunei Religious Education Higher Certificate (STPUB) and Pre-STPUB outstanding teacher certificate.
“Thank you to the government, the department, the school, my family, friends and students who never give up and are always eager to achieve success.
“I am proud that my students are always striving to improve their performance, especially in learning,” she said.
Nurul Aima also shared tips on achieving success.
She said, “Students should discipline themselves, divide and manage time effectively by making a daily review schedule, give their complete concentration and focus in class, ask the teacher or friends if there are any questions or doubts in the lesson, organise group learning, hold discussions and questions related to lessons, provide positive peer influence and encouragement, and familiarise themselves by going through past exam questions.”
She added, “Don’t give up and always try to improve yourself to achieve excellence and ideals.” Meanwhile, student Muhammad Syazwan bin Norsahrul, who achieved straight ‘A’s in 13 subjects at Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School, said time management is crucial along with understanding the subject well.
“We should also pray to Allah the Almighty for success in our studies and seek Doa from parents,” he said.
“I plan to pursue my studies in Fiqh al Qada at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali,” he added.
Meanwhile, Arabic school student Ahmad Anas Khairunnas @Taufiqillah bin Hamre, who achieved five ‘A’s in the Primary School Assessment (PSR) examination, said, “We should respect teachers, study hard and not be readily influenced by our peers, especially negative elements.” – Azlan Othman
