Some 100 participants attended a ‘Empowering Educators: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Young Learners’ talk, organised by Majmu’ah At Tashji at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) premises.
Permanent Secretary (Wawasan) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad attended the event as the guest of honour.
Assistant Director of the Civil Service Institute (IPA) Hajah Roslizawati binti Haji Ibrahim was also present.
The event began with the recitation of Doa and a group photo, followed by welcoming remarks from Head of Majmu’ah at Tashji Dr Mohamad Khairul bin Haji Matusin. A short video presentation showcased the group’s activities, followed by a presentation on the national progress of the SDGs by the SDG Unit at the Wawasan Brunei Office.
The event also featured a live-streamed talk from the UNESCO Regional Office in Jakarta on ‘Education for SDG: Learning Objectives’.
The guest of honour then handed over UNESCO comic books to head of clusters, school leaders and representatives from the Language and Literature Bureau, followed by Hajah Roslizawati presenting certificates to sponsors as tokens of appreciation.
Majmu’ah At Tashji is a five-member group from the 35th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO-35), coordinated by the IPA at the PMO. The event aimed to encourage youth, especially in primary schools, to develop sustainability awareness. – Azlan Othman
