Survey to measure financial inclusion in Brunei

Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) commissioned Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to conduct the Brunei Darussalam Financial Inclusion Demand-Side Survey 2025 from February 24 to March 30.

The survey serves to measure the level of financial inclusion in Brunei Darussalam, identify gaps and barriers, and improve access to financial products and services available in the country.

The survey aims to engage 2,600 individuals nationwide, representing a diverse cross-section of the population. Interviews will be conducted face-to-face and are expected to take not more than one hour to complete. Questions will focus solely on financial behaviour, access, preferences, and needs of individuals and households. BDCB and UTB assured participants that any information collected will be kept strictly confidential and used exclusively for the purpose of the survey.

Interviewers appointed by UTB will reach out to selected individuals to schedule appointments to conduct the interviews and assist with completing the questionnaires. The public is advised to verify the identity of interviewers by requesting their work pass issued by UTB before proceeding with the interview.
