Brunei’s unique offerings including its rich cultural heritage and pristine natural attractions impressed a delegation of Chinese Taipei travel agents in the Sultanate for a familiarisation trip and networking session, organised by the Tourism Development Department recently.
The Chinese Taipei travel agents acknowledging that the attractions are well-suited to the Chinese Taipei market, emphasised the importance of increasing Brunei’s visibility to attract more tourists.
According to the Tourism Development Department, the networking session aimed at fostering collaborations and partnerships between Brunei’s travel agents and hoteliers with the Chinese Taipei travel agents.
The networking session at a hotel, saw a product briefing followed by a one-on-one networking session between Brunei and Chinese Taipei travel agents.
Some 11 delegates from Chinese Taipei attended the session, comprising eight travel agents, a media company, and a representative from the Malaysia Tourism Board, who were part of a familiarisation trip organised by a local travel agent.
The agents were on a multi-destination familiarisation trip that included both the Sultanate and Kota Kinabalu, facilitated by the connectivity provided by Royal Brunei Airlines.
During their stay in Brunei, the agents visited several destinations in Brunei and engaged in activities such as keychain-making workshops at the Centre of Islamic Calligraphy and Arts Studies Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and joined a river tour in Temburong District.
The agents also conducted inspections at various hotels in Brunei. – James Kon
