His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Monday conferred state decorations in conjunction with the monarch’s 78th birthday celebration.
At the ceremony, thirty-six recipients comprised of government officials from His Majesty’s Office, Prime Minister’s Office, and Ministry of Religious Affairs were awarded the state honorary medals for their loyalty, hard work, dedication, and rendering services.
The ceremony was held at Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik, and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah were present during the ceremony.
Leading the conferment were the recipients of The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei (PSB) 4th Class which were received by thirty recipients.
Later on, the Monarch then conferred The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei (PUB) 5th Class to six government officials.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned. – ROKIAH MAHMUD
