In an effort to disseminate information on current issues and government policies while addressing public feedback, the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office held a Sua Muka (Personal Contact) Programme at the Liang Lumut Recreation Club (LLRC) recently.
The session, aimed at residents of RPN Kampong Lumut Area I in Mukim Liang, Belait District, sought to promote two-way communication between the government and the community. Acting Head of the District Branch Division Izzah Hazirah binti Haji Adi Othman, led the event.
Officials from the Public Works Department, the Housing Development Department, and the National Road Safety Council participated, providing insights on various initiatives and addressing local concerns.
In her opening remarks, Izzah Hazirah underscored the Information Department’s role as the government’s “voice, eyes, and ears,” ensuring the latest updates, policies, and developments reach the public through platforms such as Sua Muka sessions and the official Pelita Brunei publication. She highlighted the importance of face-to-face communication in strengthening government-citizen relations and fostering community progress. The programme included a dialogue session in which residents raised issues related to infrastructure, safety, public amenities, and community welfare. The session allowed for direct interaction with government representatives, ensuring concerns were documented for follow-up action.
