Students learn more on community safety

Officers from various government departments visited Lambak Kiri Secondary School yesterday to educate Year 9 students on community safety by providing insights into security measures and drug prevention while promoting responsibility among youth.

The session began with a discussion led by the Narcotics Control Bureau, highlighting negative health effects and consequences of drug abuse.

Meanwhile, the Internal Security Department gave an overview of their responsibilities in ensuring political stability and national security. Representatives from the Royal Brunei Police Force addressed social issues, such as vaping, bullying and loitering as crimes in Brunei, along with the legal consequences. The Prisons Department provided an interactive demonstration on whipping. Officers also stressed the role of every individual in creating a safer community while encouraging students to actively participate in activities that foster positive change.
