    Students briefed on national policies

    Students at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) were briefed on national policies and programmes by various agencies during a two-day session organised by the Information Department.

    Around 85 students from UNISSA Student Representative Council attended the department’s Informed Society Programme, which began on Tuesday.

    Special Duties Officer at the Prime Minister’s Office Muhammad Zainul-Akhyaar bin Amer Hairunuddin gave an overview on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Sultanate’s achievements in various areas.

    He spoke on the community’s role in supporting and developing the SDGs.

    Meanwhile, Economic Officer (i-Ready) Nurrafidah Syazwani binti Ramli touched on the latest economic developments, particularly how finance, transport and logistics, construction and communication sectors have contributed to the rise of non-oil and gas industries in the country.

    Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) Manager (Government and Business Support) Dayangku Hajah Siti Normardinah binti Pengiran Haji Omarali briefed the students on how they are addressing challenges in the business field, such as holding courses for potential entrepreneurs.

    Muhammad ‘Abdusysahiid bin Idris from the We Care Association discussed their projects, which offers community services to those in need, and showcased a video on some of their projects.
