Strong team spirit drives successful sports events

Team spirit evident among the management, players and the support from the school community, students, and families throughout the tournament contributed to the successful achievement of the championship’s objectives from an organisational perspective.

Head of Physical and Recreation Division, Department of Co-Curriculum at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Sukardi bin Kaderi, as the chairman of the organising committee, said this during the Brunei Darussalam Premier Cup Championship 2024 and Super League Championship 2024 prize presentation ceremony in football and netball at Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre yesterday.

“In the recent championships, several improvements have been observed, especially in team preparation and progress, technical aspects, tactics, discipline, and understanding of game rules,” he said.

“These advancements can be attributed to using better and more controlled match venues, identifying students with potential for the School Sports Council team, and establishing collaborative networks with organisations such as the Department of Youth and Sports, the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD), the Brunei Netball Association (BNA), uniformed teams, volunteers, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs),” Sukardi said.

He added, “However, these achievements will not lead to complacency. Instead, the department will continually strive to improve the quality of the organisation, guided by ongoing evaluations of the tournament.”

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the guest of honour, presented prizes to the winners.
