Stray Kids achieves 9th gold certification in US

(ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – Stray Kids clinched gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America with “Hop,” according to the organization on Tuesday in the US.

The album came out in December last year and is the band’s ninth endeavor overall to earn gold in the country. This marks the fifth album of the octet to achieve this, a first for any K-pop group.

The 12-track album sold over 1.8 million copies in the first week and topped iTunes Top Albums Chart in 28 regions while lead single “Walkin on Water” ranked atop its Top Songs Chart in 25.

It debuted atop Billboard 200 and marked the band’s sixth consecutive chart-topping album. It primarily features solo songs that the bandmates presented during their ongoing world tour “dominATE.” They are scheduled to resume the tour in Santiago on March 27.

On March 21, they will drop the digital single “Mixtape: dominATE,” its fifth release in the Mixtape series.
