His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, graced the 63rd Anniversary celebration of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) hosted Saturday at the Parade Square, Training Institute, RBAF, Penanjong Garrison.
Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Greeting His Majesty upon on arrival was Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

The event, continued with a march-past followed by a titah delivered by the monarch, which was preceded with three chants of ‘Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik’ by march participants.
The ceremony saw a Doa recited by Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Jaafar.
One of the highlights of the celebration this year is the Solidarity Jump participated by paratroopers from 11 friendly nations making the first ever showcase involving special forces as well as Defence Industry exhibition.
The exhibition showcased the latest military equipment and technology with participation from 20 countries’ defence industries.
The two-day event also features Bazaar featuring local entrepreneurs as well as family activities, like horse riding and flying fox and performances by RBAF Band.
This year’s celebration maintained the theme of last years, which is ‘Towards Making the National Vision a Success’, where the theme is in alignment of RBAF role of supporting the nation development holistically by ensuring a safe and peaceful environment through solid defence and security.
