Members of the public can donate to help ease the burdens of orphans nationwide through the short message service (SMS) following the launch of the SMS Brunei Prihatin for Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) 2023-2024 yesterday.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, as Acting Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees, officiated the launch at the multipurpose hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.
Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was also in attendance as member of DANA Board of Trustees.
SMS Brunei Prihatin for DANA 2023-2024 will continue until September 16, 2024.
Three local telecommunication companies Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd, Progresif Sdn Bhd and imagine Sdn Bhd are involved in the project. Donations of BND1, BN5, BND50, BND10, BND15, BND20, BND50 and BND100 can be made via SMS.
Each SMS sent will not have any service charges by the involved telecommunications companies.
To donate, the public can type DANA followed by the amount of donation without spacing (for example, DANA10 for BND10 donation) and send to 38111 for DST and Progresif subscribers and to 39999 for imagine subscribers. – James Kon
