Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Brunei Young Progessional Section (YPS) Network in collaboration with InnovAero Sdn Bhd conducted a technical showcase featuring guest speaker InnovAero Project Manager Aaisyah Yani on ‘The Utilisation of Drone Technology Across Various Technologies’ recently.
The event, attended by over 30 guests, kicked off with an introduction on IET by the IET Brunei YPS Chairperson Jevons Penaflor. He highlighted how IET, as a professional home for engineers, technicians, technologists and students, relate to STEM and its benefits.
This was followed by a presentation by Aaisyah who spoke about InnovAero and its mission to change Brunei’s agriculture and geo-mapping sector using drone technology.
She also spoke about the key areas drones can be used not only in the Sultanate, but around Borneo, seen in a project presentation showcasing the efficiency of drone technology compared to conventional methods.
The attendees witnessed the drones up close and got hands-on experience at piloting one using computer simulations.
The event proceeded with a live demonstration of the drones’ aerial capabilities by InnovAero pilots at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer and technical sharing session. – James Kon
